On December 30, 2021, over 35,000 Boulder County, Colorado residents had to evacuate their homes and over 1,000 families lost their homes, totally destroyed, along with all of their belongings and sadly, their family Christmas gifts, ornaments and decorations just five days after Christmas!
This was a huge disaster and the impact on the children and families was and is horrific; those directly affected lost everything! We cannot imagine how this has affected the children; losing everything they were gleefully ready to enjoy after a happy Christmas.
Therefore. RMSCOT, along with The Spirit of Liberty Foundation, the Salvation Army, and the Flatirons Community Church, state Governors, the santa community, went about collecting toys, games, Christmas ornaments (from a number of states) and clothes! What a cornucopia of gifts!
On March 16th, 2022 this collective group of volunteers and organizers convened at the Flatirons Community Church to have a 2nd Magical Christmas to Remember and The lighting ceremony for the dramatic “Christmas Tree of Resilience.”
Rocky Mountain Santas Convoy of Toys will be there to hand out Christmas stockings, ornaments, and toys to all who attend on Wednesday 2/23. It is being promoted as the “Magical 2nd Christmas to Remember” with the lighting of the “Christmas Tree of Resilience” at Foothills Community Church, on Tuesday evening 2/22. The “Christmas Tree of Resilience” will be lit in perpetuity as a symbol of the communities’ perseverance and resilience.
